Quarantine Adventures
Quarantine is the pits.
While we know the importance of staying safe and distant from others during this time, the walls in our office do start to feel like they are closing in on us at times. Does anyone else feel like that!?
So, we decided to take matters into our own hands with two simple words - road trip!
We grabbed the camera, our face masks, and some road trip essentials, hopped in the car and began to drive. Music blasting, sun shining, and not a bad vibe in sight!
We wanted to find a place without many people, or none at all. And where did we find ourselves? Heading to the desert. It’s our most comforting destination when needing a break from reality, so that’s where we headed.
There is something about the desolate terrain and vast emptiness the desert brings that seems to be rather comforting to us, although the heat definitely makes you crave an ice-cold beer.. The one thing we forgot to bring!
Right when we arrived, we realized one of us probably should have checked the weather... Not only was it over 100°F, but there was also so much wind we could barely open the car door to get out!
But, I actually think the funniest part of our day was when we first arrived.
Within seconds of Luca opening his door, the wind somehow blew our face masks from the dash of the car!
We immediately started running after them, chasing them every which way the wind blew them. I swear, it was like a comical scene in a film, every time we were close, the wind blew them further away. The masks got swept far enough away to reach the highway and almost became roadkill multiple times... After what felt like forever chasing after our sacred masks, Luca finally caught them stuck in a bush just past the highway. Man oh man, we laughed about that for the remainder of the day!
Since the wind was so wild that day, it wasn’t like we could take the photos we wanted or even enjoy being outdoors for that matter, but we decided to say fuck it. We grabbed the camera, looked mother nature in the face, and decided to use the crazy weather to capture some cool shots and even better, some awesome memories. And we did just that.
When heading home, we both knew that the day may not be what we had expected but it was still a damn good day.
Point is, we all need to step outside a bit and get some fresh air, even if the air isn’t so fresh but more so… what’s the right word? Oh yeah, dusty. But hey, the memory was so worth it.
Till our next adventure, stay safe you rebels!
