Whether it be a unique marketing tactic or a new-age form of currency, The Shaky Knees Music Festival has begun a new tattoo trend - an ‘SK’ tattoo as an entry ticket to the festival. Shaky Knees offers lifetime entry for those willing to get their initials ‘SK’ tattooed anywhere on their body. Although there are certain criteria for the tattoo to qualify, it's pretty simple:

✓ The tattoo must have ‘SK’ somewhere in it
✓ The tattoo must be at least the size of a silver dollar
✓ The rest is up to you!

You can still buy a ticket to the event, although the music festival tends to sell out fast - as most of them do! The festival tickets cost around $250 for a three-day pass whereas a new tattoo might only set you back about $100. That’s $100 bucks for a lifetime of music festival fun! HELL YEAH to that!!

The tattoo trend was such as success that it was reported last year that nearly 3,000 people waited at will call to register their ‘SK’ tattoos, all receiving guaranteed entry as promised. Social media was flooded with photos from the festival, many attendees showing off their tattoos via #shakyknees for the world to see. Can you think of a better marketing method than a tattoo that lasts forever? We can’t!

But as predicted, the tattoo trend worked all too well and the festival has officially closed registration for ‘SK’ tattoos as of 2019. The Shaky Knees Festival has successfully “branded” themselves on thousands of music/tattoo lovers - finding a way to join both cultures and bring like-minded individuals together for a weekend of good times and epic memories.
